Laguna Beach Restaurants

Laguna Beach restaurants and dining experiences are as numerous as the art galleries in the small, eclectic beach village. Since there are so many from which to choose, I'll just tell you may favorite upscale, medium and down-scale restaurants that offer both a decent dining experience plus yummy food.

Laguna Beach Restaurants

The upscale Laguna Beach restaurants have to include Splashes at the Surf & Sand resort, Clae's restaurant at the Hotel Laguna and the Studio at the Montage Resort. Splashes offers excellent Mediterranean fare such as grilled swordfish. Clae's restaurant is known for their seafood and one can get fresh lobster, mahi-mahi and salmon there.

The Studio offers such delicacies as caviar and oysters, sunchoke soup, crab leg risotto, duck breast, lamb chops and halibut. They also offer separate wine and cheese menus.

Laguna Beach has an over abundance of medium-scale restaurants so I'll just list my favorites according to cuisine. For American food try the Cottage Restaurant on north PCH and the White House just south of Main Beach. Las Brisas is perhaps the most famous Laguna Beach restaurant because of its view, but the Mexican food it serves is a bit underwhelming.

For Asian dining try Five Feet Restaurant right downtown, especially their whole authentic catfish. I'm also going to tell you may super secret favorite which is a Thai restaurant called Thai Brothers.

Laguna Beach Dining
It's sort of downtown, but I'm not going to tell you exactly where since I don't want you to go there as I don't want it to get TOO popular.

As far as California Nouveau the Sorrento Grille & Wine Bar is medium to upscale and is located in the downtown section of Laguna Beach near the library. Other downtown restaurants include 230 Forest Avenue (guess where this is located), Sundried Tomato Café. The Mosaic Bar and Grille is also worth checking out at the Montage Resort in South Laguna Beach.

The French restaurant worth dining at a block from Main Beach is C'est La Vie. If you're going to go Greek then go to the Aegean Café on south PCH. And, for medium scale Mexican restaurants try Javier's Cantina & Grill also a little south of Main Beach on PCH.

As for cheap eats, I know it's a chain by BJ's restaurant right across from Main Beach is one of my favorites. The same with Wahoo's Fish Tacos. Another of my fav's is Coyote Grill in South Laguna Beach, which I believe is not a chain but I'm not perfectly sure.

Anyway, these are my top picks for Laguna Beach restaurants, dining and food. Do with it what you will and enjoy the cuisine.
